The Scorch Trials By James Dashner

A bit burnt, will I make it to The Death Cure?

Okay, so I've finally adjusted to the colorful use of language - it added an interesting element to the story and helped it to stand apart. I got through book one kind of fired up to see what book two would have to offer, I'm personally invested in Thomas and want him to figure out all of the deep dark secrets that he's forgotten.

Enter The Scorch Trials, a very well written sequel to The Maze Runner, It's full of imagination and creative scenarios which are bound to entertain you with their detail and originality ...now how did you know there was a but coming? If you are looking for any kind of bright side or light at the end of the Gladers tunnel, sadly, you will not be finding that in book two. I'm not the person who looks to give too much away, and fine if you made it through book one you already know that these kids don't come from the "Happy neighborhood", but is it so much to ask for Thomas to have something to look forward too beyond just basic survival. Jeez, I've never been so grateful for even the crappy parts of my own childhood ...Lol!

Back to business, don't let me dissuade you from a terrific piece of fiction, just keep in mind that it's dark and in my opinion too dark for anyone under 15. Hell, it's too dark for me, normally I would breeze through a series back-to-back when possible, I need a break before I go on to book three! Maybe you think that you don't get affected by what you read, I believe that especially when it is well written a book most certainly has the power to take you places ...so remember to enter at your own risk!

I feel like I'm writing an ad for alcohol ...Please remember to read responsibly! All joking aside, since I've been writing I very often feel as if I'm in a classroom when I read a novel with such good presentation. You, however, are more than likely just reading for the pure enjoyment of it, keeping that in mind I just want you to know that if you go along for the ride with Thomas in The Scorch Trials it won't be pretty!
